Made a big push and finished up the game. Both the reveal and the actual content of the game's biggest mystery (Protocol 10) was pretty disappointing. The simplicity of the plan was shocking and extremely underwhelming and the twists were mostly predictable (with the exception of one clever bit revolving around the joker). But as disappointing as the ending was, the journey itself was quite entertaining, although I still think that the story tried to cram in too many villains for its own good. Its not among the best that Paul Dini has written (there are several episodes of Batman: The Animated Series that I think are stronger than this game), but it's not incompetent by any stretch. Gameplay-wise, the Arkham City doesn't deviate much from the successful formula of its predecessor: stealth is decent, close-range combat is fantastic, exploration is mostly good, with a few control hiccups, and the detective sections are basically automatic and essentially window-dressing. Overall, Arkham City is an entertaining, high-quality, but ultimately safe sequel.
