I got this game about a year ago, and I finally got around putting some real time into it. My intention is to beat the game prior to my vacation next week. At any rate, I have made it through two rather lengthy dungeons in my first day of play and I must say that I am fairly impressed by their design: They are straightforward enough that I almost never have to consult the map, yet still give off a sense of exploration and discovery, and feel suitably large. The photography gimmick is also well done: taking pictures of wildlife is engaging and the concept of uncovering and exposing a conspiracy through your pictures is intriguing, even though is actually a very minor element gameplay-wise. The visuals are also very well done, with simplistic, but visually unique environments and great character designs all around. That said, there are a number of things that could have been done better. For instance, the camera controls are lousy, especially during the vehicle segments, in tight space, or (bizarrely) when Jade is crouching. The controls can also be wonky at times, although this is mostly tied in with the iffy camera since movement control is tied to the camera. Vehicles also have a loose, sloppy feeling, although surprisingly this rarely gets in the way, even during vehicle races, which are surprisingly fun.
