Sleeping Dogs has sort of been the talk of the town over the past week or so, and I had a chance to pick it up on the cheap, so I decided to give it a try. What I have found I am pretty impressed by what I have seen so far. It's not going to break any new ground in the open-world-crime-genre, but it's more than competent at what it does, and from what I've played thus far, seems to be very earnestly trying to tell an interesting story to boot. Mechanically, Driving and close combat standout with the former being incredibly direct and precise, very arcady and easy to put your car or bike exactly where you want it, and the latter has a good amount of variety and actually requires some skill to use. Not much more to say at this point except that if you're burning for an open world action game at the moment, this one seems like a pretty good bet.
